Behind the shield, a United States Army Officers sword and a Marine Corps Officers Mameluke in saltire, points downward Proper.

A tri-parted scroll Azure doubled Or inscribed VELOX FUROREM DE MARI Or.

Symbolism

SHIELD

Red is emblematic of sacrifice and valor. The shape of the shield is a tribute to a shield containing the Nevada state seal located within the capitol building. The capitol dome is a landmark of Carson City, the capital of Nevada. The silver dome harkens to the legacy of silver mining within the state.


CREST

The eagle exemplifies freedom, strength, vision and courage as well as alluding to Eagle Valley, where Carson City is located.


SUPPORTERS

The Army Model 1902 saber and Marine Corps Mameluke sword symbolize the joint mission of Soldiers and Marines aboard Spearhead-class ships.


MOTTO

Dark blue and gold are the colors traditionally associated with the Navy and represent the sea and excellence. The motto, VELOX FUROREM DE MARI, translates to Swift Fury from the Sea.

SEAL

The coat of arms as blazoned in full color upon a white oval enclosed within a dark blue collar, edged on the outside with gold rope and bearing the name USNS CARSON CITY at top and T-EPF 7 in base, all in gold.
